President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday unveiled a logo to mark Nigeria’s 60th independence anniversary.
He performed the ceremonies at the State House, Abuja, shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council meeting.
The logo carries the message, “60 Together. “
Nigeria, which gained her independence from the British colonial masters in 1960, will turn 60 years on October 1.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari; and several ministers witnessed the event.
Ministers with memos to present to the FEC were physically present at the State House.
However, the majority of cabinet members joined the virtual meeting from their respective locations in line with the COVID -19 safety protocols.
Details of deliberations at the FEC meeting are expected to be made public much later in the day.
