The incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu and the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, appears to be coasting home to victory from the results posted so far.
Akeredolu has polled 235,922 votes from results coming from 15 local government areas posted so far while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eyitayo Jegede is trailing with 168,965 votes.
The Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi, who is the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party is presently in third position with 49,627 votes from the 15 local government areas.
Results from Ondo West, Ese Odo and Ilaje Local government areas are still being expected.
Supporters of the APC have started quiet celebration while those of the PDP are dejected following the results that seem unassalaiable.
The Saturday poll, which was held in all the local areas, was largely peaceful but few cases of violence was reported.
The security agents also made some arrests while vote-buying characterised the election in many polling units.
However, the electoral fraud was tactically done and cash was not exchanged at the polling units but the buying and selling was secretly done and the payments were also done in a discret manner.
