Soldiers Intercept N2million Ransom Payment to Boko Haram, kill insurgents, rescue kidnapped victims in the North East

Men of the Nigerian Army on November 17, intercepted Boko Haram and families of Kidnapped victims, foiled an attempt to collect N2 million ransom, leading to the death of an insurgent.

The Operation was carried out following credible intelligence reports on the abduction of the victims and plans by family members to pay a ransom of Two million naira cash to the assailants.

The gallant soldiers attached to the 251 Task Force Battalion promptly deployed to the area, intercepted the criminals, engaged them in fierce gun fight, forcing them to abort the collection of the payment as well as abandoning their captives.

In the aftermath of the gun duel, one Boko Haram insurgent was killed, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.

One AK 47 Rifle and one Motorcycle were recovered. The victims including 2 women and 3 children were all rescued unhurt.

Similarly, on the same day, the gallant soldiers conducted an aggressive fighting patrol to clear Boko Haram criminals hideout in the general area of Zaye Ngusa Village,Borno State.

The military men spotted the criminals and engaged them with superior fire power forcing them to withdraw in disarray as blood stains littered along their escape paths as one Insurgent was killed.

In the same vein, soldiers on the November 17,

conducted a successful ambush operation along the Boko Haram crossing point leading to the killing of a criminal, while several others escaped with varying degrees of gunshot wounds.

Similarly, on November 15, soldiers ambushed the logistics convoy of Boko Haram insurgents along Pulka – Sabon Gari – Kirawa road.

On sighting the terrorists, the military men engaged the criminals with gun fire forcing them to flee abandoning their consignments.

8 bicycles, several bags of grains, assorted packets of drugs and other food items were recovered from the criminals.
