The top opening day fixture of the 2020/21 Nigeria Women Football League Premiership kicked off Wednesday at the Lafia City Stadium with 2017 Champions Nasarawa Amazons losing One Nil at home to FC Robo Queens.

Despite constant pressure from the host, FC Robo forward, Rukayat Shobowale took advantage of a sloppy defending incident by Nasarawa Amazons defenders to slot home from close range on the 32nd minute mark.
Both teams tried to outdo each other after then, but all their efforts yielded no goal as FC Robo defence continued to deny the host a lot of goal scoring opportunities.
In the second half the host continued pressurizing the Lagos base team with substitute Ejalonibu Adegoke missing the best chance for the Amazon after heading a good scoring chance wide.
