Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has directed the state’s Attorney General And Commissioner for Justice, to ensure speedy prosecution of the perpetrators of Gender Based Violence in the society.
The governor gave the directive when he received the gender based activism group, led by the state’s First Lady, Aisha Bala Mohammed at the Government House .
These are the members of state’s Action Committee On Sexual And Gender Based Violence, including female students who are the most vulnerable group in the society, in terms of gender based violence.
The visit is in comemoration of 16 days of activism against gender based violence.
The First Lady use the forum to appeal to the governor to ensure speedy prosecution of the perpetrators of gender based violence as already identified by the group.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, decried the increase in both terrorism and domestic violence in the country.
The governor assured of his administration’s commitment for timely prosecution of the culprits, as he directs the state’s Attorney General And Commissioner for Justice to ensure timely and speedy prosecution of the perpetrators of the nasty acts.
While urging the Federal Government to do the needful, by addressing the incessant killings in the country, the governor said, his administration will address the issue of youth restiveness and violence against each other, for a better society.
