Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike says Nigeria must put in place a reward scheme that would permanently cater for the Welfare of Veterans, widows and dependents of members of the Nigerian Military especially when they are no more.

Speaking at the Emblem Appeal Fund Launching to mark the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, Governor Wike says the Men and Women who lay down their lives everyday deserve a lot more than the country current offers them; saying that the country must give its service men and women the kind of encouragement they deserve.

It’s the first of activities to mark the 2021 Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration…

It’s a Fund Raising Event and the proceeds realized would be used to provide support to the Veterans, widows and dependents of the nation’s fallen heroes.

These men and women lay down their lives everyday so the rest of us can live in a safe, United and Peaceful country…

Many of them are right now battling the Boko Haram Terrorist Group, the rampaging herdsmen and banditry across the country.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike says but for efforts of the Armed Forces, Nigeria would have been in a deeper crisis.

The Governor says a Permanent reward system must be put in place to honour the gallant men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Apart from Redeeming the pledges made by his Administration, the Rivers State Governor also announced a separate donation on Thursday to the Nigerian Legion in Rivers State.

The Emblem Appeal Fund Launching offers Nigerians an opportunity to give support to the men and who make up the Armed Forces Community.
