COVID-19: Uzodimma Shuts Imo Secretariat

Amid resurgence of Covid-19 pandemic in the country, Governor Hope Uzodinma has ordered the closure of Imo State Secretariat, effective Monday, December 21, 2020.

This is part of measures aimed at checking the spread of the menace.

Uzodimma In a state broadcast on Sunday, December 2020, outlined the dangers of the fresh spike of Covid-19 pandemic, directing that all government workers except permanent secretaries and political appointees should stay away from office till further notice.

The governor said the wearing of face masks has become compulsory for every Imo resident, as Mobile Courts have been directed to arrest and prosecute anyone found without wearing mask.

The Governor also directed that no social gathering this Christmas should have more than 100 persons in attendance, warning that social distancing and all the Covid-19 safety protocols must be observed.
