Some the electricity power equipment recovered from the vandals after their arrests included armoured cables, transformers, high tension wires and solar panels.

Bayelsa State’s Commissioner of Police, Michael Okolie while parading the suspects at the Command headquarters in Yenagoa, highlighted the case of a former staff of the Bayelsa Government House who was nabbed in the process of stealing 12 heavy duty batteries from the State House.

According to Okolie, areas where the criminal activities took place in state capital, were Azikoro, Agbura and Ayama in Southern Ijaw council area, where residents have been thrown into darkness.
