Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs visits demolished building in Ghana seven months after

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has finally paid an unscheduled visit to the demolished building in the Nigerian High Commission premises in Ghana, with the view to inspect the level of damage.

In a statement issued by the ministry of foreign Affairs this Friday, Pictures from the site reveal that over seven months after the demolition and promise by Ghanaian authorities, work is yet to commence on the site.

Onyeama also represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the inauguration ceremony of President Nana Akufo-Addo in Accra, Ghana.

The Minister ended the visit with an interactive session with a cross-section of the Nigerian community in Ghana.

He assured the Nigerian community that government remains committed to seeing that all the issues affecting Nigerians in Ghana will be resolved, urging them to remain good ambassadors of the country.

Recall that Ghanaian authorities offered to rebuild the demolished building in the Nigerian High Commission in Accra after it was demolished in June, 2020.
