BOKO HARAM ALLEGEDLY TAKES OVER DIKWA TOWN

An unconfirmed Report says Boko Haram, have reportedly taken over the United Nations hub in the rice cultivating town of Dikwa in Borno state, with no word from the humanitarian workers as at this morning.

it is learnt that their real aim of sacking Dikwa town is to capture the humanitarian workers alive and use them as bate for ransome since they are believed to be high reference values in dollars.

Sources in the UN quarters say that they are not sure of the number of workers either trapped in the building or have escaped but they have remained incommunicado , if they are alive.

The Boko Haram insurgents are also said to have taken over the control of the entire Dikwa town which is about seventy five kilometres away from Maiduguri the Borno state capital.

The Army is said to be responding to the assault. meanwhile the UN Resident Humanitarian Cordinator in Nigeria, Edward Kallon, has strongly condemned the on going attack and complete seige by insurgents on Dikwa town of Borno state.

Dikwa has suffered several attacks by the insurgent boko haram in the last eleven years. As at the time of filing this report, the NIgerian army is yet comment on the matter.
