The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has attributed the delay in the payment of June 2025 salaries to a technical glitch during the salary processing stage, particularly affecting federal employees with bank accounts domiciled at Zenith Bank Plc.

In a statement issued on Friday, the OAGF said it is aware of the complaints from some federal civil servants across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) who have yet to receive their salaries.

“Upon investigation, it was discovered that the salary payments were impacted by a technical network glitch during the processing at the bank,” the statement read.

The office acknowledged the anxiety and frustration caused by the delay, especially considering the critical importance of timely salary payments to public servants and their families.

Swift Remedial Actions Underway

The OAGF assured affected workers that immediate steps have been taken to rectify the issue and ensure that outstanding salaries are processed without further delay.

“We deeply regret the inconvenience this unfortunate incident has caused and wish to assure all affected employees that no effort will be spared in ensuring they receive their rightful earnings,” the statement continued.

The office disclosed that it is working closely with service providers and stakeholders, including Zenith Bank and other relevant institutions, to isolate the root cause and initiate prompt reprocessing of the failed transactions.

OAGF Reaffirms Commitment to Workers’ Welfare

Reiterating its dedication to effective service delivery, the OAGF emphasized that the welfare of Federal Government employees remains a top priority.

“The OAGF remains fully committed to transparency, accountability, and efficiency in all payroll operations and is open to continuous engagement with stakeholders to ensure sustained improvements in our service delivery,” the statement concluded.

Affected civil servants have been urged to remain calm and assured that corrective measures are being expedited to resolve the delay in the shortest possible time.
