President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the recall of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos, the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), to his position after briefly vacating the role due to recent management changes at the state-owned broadcaster.
This change was announced in a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Dembos, who was first appointed DG of NTA by President Tinubu in October 2023, will now return to complete his three-year tenure.
The President has also directed the reinstatement of Mr. Ayo Adewuyi as Executive Director of News. Adewuyi, appointed in 2024, will serve out his tenure, which runs until 2027.
The new directive reverses earlier announced appointments that had introduced a new director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises.
