The Obala-Utchi Development Association (O.D.A) has commended the Executive Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Council, Hon. (Chief) Vincent O. Osilonya, popularly known as the Azi-Afakaego of Ossissa, for fulfilling his promise to provide a pontoon for the people of Ward 3 [5]—which includes Inyi Clan, Onuaboh Clan, and parts of Utchi, as well as other communities under DSIEC Wards 5 and 6.

In a statement signed by Prince Igwe Nzekwe, Chairman of the O.D.A, the association described the project as a “remarkable fulfillment of promise” and a strong demonstration of Hon. Osilonya’s leadership capacity, vision, and dedication to community development.

“Hon. Osilonya has demonstrated what it truly means to be a grassroots leader—one who prioritizes meaningful, tangible progress over rhetoric and personal gain,” the statement read.

The group noted that the pontoon will significantly improve transportation and connectivity among riverine communities in the area, enhancing trade, social interaction, and access to essential services.

Prince Nzekwe lauded the council boss’s ongoing ‘Re-setting Agenda’, describing it as a transformative initiative that has brought renewed hope and trust to the people of Ndokwa East.

“His actions have not only bridged communities but also restored faith in responsible governance,” Nzekwe added.

The O.D.A reaffirmed its support for the local government chairman, expressing gratitude for his people-oriented leadership.

“Indeed, the name of Hon. Vincent O. Osilonya is now written in gold in the hearts of the good people of Obala-Utchi,” the association stated. “We pray that Almighty God continues to bless, guide, and protect him as he leads with vision and integrity.”
