Tension rocked the Miss Universe 2025 pre-pageant ceremony in Thailand after several contestants staged a dramatic walkout to protest the alleged humiliation of Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch.

According to reports, the incident occurred when Nawat Itsaragrisil, a Thai official involved in the event, allegedly called Bosch “dumb” for not posting promotional content on her social media page.

Witnesses said that when Bosch objected to the remark, Nawat reportedly called in security and threatened to disqualify any contestant who supported her. The confrontation quickly escalated, prompting Bosch to walk out of the venue — a move that inspired other contestants to join in solidarity.

In a video that has since gone viral, Bosch described the incident as “disrespectful” and “undermining” to women, stressing that pageantry should be a platform that uplifts, not insults, its participants.

“As a country, you have all my respect. I truly love Thailand. I respect all of you. You are amazing people. But what your director did is not respectful. He called me dumb and said to me to shut up and other different things. I think the world needs to see this because we are empowered women. This is a platform for our voice,” Bosch said.

The controversy has sparked outrage on social media, with fans and women’s rights advocates calling for an official apology and investigation into the conduct of the Thai official.
