Nigerian music superstar Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Face or 2Baba, has made his first public comment since the controversy surrounding his marriage to Natasha Osawaru erupted online.
In a brief but unsettling post shared on his Instagram Story on Wednesday, the award-winning singer wrote: “Help me.”
The message has heightened public concern about his state of mind and the state of his marriage.
His post came shortly after his brother, Hyacinth Idibia, expressed worry about the singer’s situation. Hyacinth, in an Instagram update referencing a line from one of 2Face’s older songs, wrote:
“You’ve always been ahead, always been brilliant. Lyrics meant to inspire, but somehow it’s unfolding in real time… Painful reality. Allow us save you. You’ve been suffering for too long. God knows.”
The family’s comments follow weeks of tension between the singer and Osawaru, who is also a lawmaker in the Edo State House of Assembly.
Public interest in the matter spiked after a viral video surfaced showing 2Face being handcuffed and led away by police officers in the United Kingdom. The clip, posted by blogger Tosin Silverdam on TikTok, appeared to capture the aftermath of a confrontation between the couple during a trip abroad.
Another incident drew attention on Monday during a live chat on Daddy Freeze’s Instagram page. While Daddy Freeze spoke with 2Face’s former management team, the singer joined the session, leading to what viewers described as a tense exchange.
The series of videos and social media posts have fuelled widespread speculation about a deepening marital crisis, prompting fans to call for support for the singer and clarity on his well-being.
