Mallam Auwalu, father of Umar, the principal suspect in the gruesome killing of a housewife and her children in Kano State, has called on the Nigerian government to immediately sentence his son to death.

Speaking during an interview on a local radio station in Kano, Auwalu said his son should not be allowed to remain in society, insisting that swift execution would help protect the public from further danger.

According to him, individuals capable of such acts should be permanently removed to preserve social order and sanity.

“The likes of Umar, my son, should not be allowed in society. They should be eliminated to allow for a sane environment,” he said.

Auwalu also alleged that Umar may have been involved in other violent crimes, including the killing of the junior sister of a woman from Darayi Hausa last month, though this has not been officially confirmed by authorities.

“I strongly believe that Umar has committed several crimes that we are not aware of. Now that he has been arrested, he should be punished accordingly,” he stated.

He further appealed to the government and security agencies not to delay the trial, expressing fears that political interference could lead to a pardon if the suspect remains in custody for too long.

“I don’t want the government or security agencies to delay his trial because if he stays in prison, some politicians may come and forgive him, and that will not be good for our society,” Auwalu added.

Umar, alongside two other suspects, was arrested by the police on Sunday in connection with the alleged murder of a housewife and her children in Kano.

The suspects include 23-year-old Umar, who is reportedly a nephew of the deceased woman, as well as Isyaku Yakubu, also known as “Chebe,” aged 40, and Yakubu Abdulaziz, popularly called “Wawo,” aged 21.

They were apprehended during a sting operation personally supervised by the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori.
