The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration.

April 3 has been set aside as Good Friday, while April 6 will be observed as Easter Monday.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the decision in a statement on Wednesday, urging Nigerians to reflect on the significance of the season.

“Easter is a period that reminds us of the values of tolerance and community that keep us together as a nation. Nigerians should remain committed to these ideals for the progress of our country,” he said.

Tunji-Ojo also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to policies aimed at driving national development.

According to him, the government remains focused on implementing decisions that will promote national renewal, economic growth, and shared prosperity for all citizens.
