The Delta State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association has confirmed that the medical report shared by social media influencer Blessing CEO, claiming she had cancer, is forged.
Findings from investigations concluded in early April 2026 revealed that the document was originally issued to another patient and later altered. The development has triggered widespread outrage, with legal and medical professionals calling for possible prosecution.
According to a statement by O A Odigwe of Xinus Medical Diagnostics in Asaba, the facility never issued any report to Blessing CEO. He clarified that the original document was issued on May 9, 2025, to a patient identified as Mbara Deborah.
The investigation alleges that the influencer obtained the medical report from the patient under private circumstances and later altered key details, including the name and date, to present it as her own. The document was then reportedly shared online to gain sympathy and possibly financial support.
Following the discovery, the family of Deborah Mbara has initiated legal action against Blessing CEO, accusing her of forgery and identity theft, and seeking damages over the misuse of sensitive medical information.
The revelation has intensified backlash on social media, with many Nigerians calling for her arrest and accountability over the incident.
