Chisom Anyim Pius, the 25-year-old son of former Senate President and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has emerged as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Ivo State Constituency in Ebonyi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the weekend in Isiaka, the headquarters of Ivo Local Government Area, and presided over by the council chairman, Emmanuel Ajah.
Chisom Anyim is expected to contest for the Ivo State Constituency seat on the platform of the APC in the 2027 polls.
Ajah confirmed that the adoption followed a unanimous agreement among stakeholders to support a candidate from the area.
“Yes, it is true. The whole of Ivo unanimously adopted Chisom Anyim as the consensus candidate of APC for Ivo State Constituency for next year’s general election.
“The whole Ivo people gathered and informed Senator Anyim Pius Anyim that his son will be flying our party’s ticket for the 2027 general election,” he said.
He added that other aspirants in the race stepped down in support of the consensus decision.
If elected, Chisom Anyim is expected to succeed the current lawmaker representing Ivo State Constituency, Onyebuchi Ogbadu, who previously served as chairman of Ivo Local Government Area between 2020 and 2023.
