A video circulating on social media has sparked reactions after individuals wearing All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign shirts bearing the image of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu were allegedly paid ₦1,500 each for participating in a day-long mobilisation exercise.
The footage, which reportedly originated on TikTok before spreading to X, shows several participants outdoors near buildings and vehicles, expressing frustration over the amount they allegedly received.
One of the men is seen displaying the cash while questioning what ₦1,500 could provide for someone with family responsibilities after spending hours walking, dancing and campaigning under the sun.
“It’s okay, I follow do advertisement. One thousand five hundred naira for what? Family man?” one of the participants was heard saying.
He also referenced the difficulties faced by people with families and other financial responsibilities, suggesting that remaining at home might have been a better option.
Another portion of the video reportedly shows two participants receiving a combined ₦3,000, amounting to ₦1,500 each.
The individuals in the footage appeared to have been mobilised specifically for the political activity, although the exact location, organisers and circumstances surrounding the event could not be independently established from the video.
Participants reportedly complained about the physical demands of the exercise, including walking long distances, dancing and spending hours outdoors in the heat, which they said made the payment inadequate.
