A mini-truck driver from Ado-Ekiti, Adeleye Adeniyi, has disclosed that he took out a N3.5m loan to support the re-election campaigns of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State House of Assembly member Steve Fatoba.

Adeniyi, known as “Online Loan Man for BAO”, made the disclosure in an interview with journalists circulating on Friday. During the interview, he displayed a cardboard cheque bearing the Wema Bank name, showing N2m for Tinubu, N1m for Bamidele and N500,000 for Fatoba.

He said his decision to borrow the money was driven by his assessment of the politicians’ performance and his willingness to campaign for them ahead of the next elections.

“I am supporting Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his second-term ambition. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he’s doing a very great job,” he said.

The driver also promised to mobilise support for Tinubu, saying he intended to use a campaign song to promote the President’s second-term bid.

“Like I said again, I am fully ready to go out to campaign for him. And I’m going to use this song to back him up. On your mandate, we shall stand,” he added.

Adeniyi urged Nigerians to vote for Tinubu again, arguing that another term would bring further benefits to citizens.

“I will appeal to my fellow Nigerians that we should demonstrate love by giving him, by voting him for his second term in office, because we are still going to see much more, more than what we have received,” he said.

He also expressed support for Bamidele and praised the senator’s backing of projects in Ekiti State, particularly in healthcare, education, electricity and rural infrastructure. He similarly commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for what he described as contributions to the state’s development.

“Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, this man, I pray that we are still going to higher places. Most times, I look at the kind of projects that you always put on, you always supported. It always encouraged me that, no, indeed, this is a good leader,” Adeniyi said.

The latest declaration follows a similar show of support in February 2026, when Adeniyi reportedly borrowed money through the digital lending platform OPay to brand a vehicle in support of Oyebanji’s re-election campaign.

At the time, the driver, who operates around the BAO Timber Market along Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti, said his backing of the governor was motivated by his admiration for the administration.

He had also praised Oyebanji and Tinubu over their policies on education, healthcare and citizens’ welfare, while urging residents to support the governor’s second-term ambition.

In the latest interview, Adeniyi said he had taken another loan to demonstrate his commitment to supporting the three politicians.
