Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, and co-chairman of the political group, National Consultative Front, NCFront, Alhaji Ghali Umar Na’Abba, has been invited by the Department of State Service, DSS.
He is to honour the invitation on Monday at 12 noon.
The Head, Public Affairs Bureau, NCFront national headquarters, Dr. Tanko Yunusa, made this known on Saturday in a statement he issued.
According to him, the invitation of the former Speaker followed “his very profound interview on Channels Television on Thursday in regard to the NCFront agenda to bring about a new Nigeria that works for all.”
NCFront called on all its organs, structures and allies nationwide to be on the alert saying “eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.”
It would be recalled that former deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and politician, Obadiah Mailafia, was interrogated by the DSS over his comments in an interview on a Lagos radio station, Nigeria Info 99.3 FM.
Mailafia had claimed that a governor was a commander of the terrorists group, Boko Haram.
The DSS, in a statement after the interrogation, stated that Mailafia’s claim could not be substantiated.
He was said to have agreed that he erred and apologised.
The radio station has consequently been fined N5 million by the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, for transmitting the interview.
The DSS said the statement by Mailafia confirmed the alarm it (DSS) raised earlier that some prominent Nigerians were out to cause breakdown of law and order.
