The identity of the officer of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the Lagos State Police Command, who shot a lady in the mouth on Thursday, October 8 has been revealed.

Confirming the report in a statement on Friday, October 9, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, noted that the incident was not in any way connected to the ongoing End SARS protest in the state.

According to Adejobi, the incident which took place at Salvation Bus Stop, Opebi, Ikeja Area of Lagos was as a result of a fierce argument between the victim and the officer whose name was later identified as Sergeant Eze Aiwansoba.

Ndubueze Nelly James, the elder brother of Isioma Joy Ndubueze, who was shot in the mouth by her police boyfriend, on Thursday, October 8, has narrated what led to the unfortunate incident.

Joy was rushed to the hospital, after she was shot at Salvation Bus Stop, Ikeja, Lagos State, by her boyfriend identified as officer Eze Nwansoba, with batch number: 458468.

According to James, the couple have been together for almost two years and was planning to get married in December 2020. However, things went south after Joy broke up with Eze last week following alleged domestic abuse.

“She has been seeing signs of domestic abuse and lies. They were living together and were having a lot of issues.

After reaching out to relatives and even their pastor for counseling, and nothing seems to change, she decided to pack out, and broke up with him.

But it looks like Eze had made up his mind that it’s either him or death. He decided to end things in his own way by taking advantage of his career/uniform and the resources at his disposal.

Currently Eze is on the run, he is nowhere to be found. We are appealing to everyone to help us find this perpetrator so that the law can take it’s course. We seek justice for our sister,” he said.
