Taraba State Government has commenced Contributory Healthcare Insurance Scheme In the state.
The government says it is part of efforts to provide affordable and quality healthcare services to the citizens.
Governor Darius Ishaku, asked the people to enrol for the scheme to have access to standard and cheap healthcare services.
The Taraba State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme targets the poorest and less privileged in the state, with the best, yet affordable healthcare services.
It is expected to limit, out of pocket spending for medical treatment, for persons enrolled in the scheme.
The programme was flagged off by Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku.
He called on all the citizens to enrol for the scheme, irrespective of financial or social status.
Stakeholders in Taraba State health sector, spoke on the significance of the contributory health insurance scheme, especially with the state government’s decision to have primary healthcare centres, in every ward of the state.
So far, 97 out of 164 wards have primary healthcare centres, to meet the health needs of people in rural areas.
Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku reminded the citizens that the COVID-19 prevention protocols should be adhered to at all times, as the disease is still spreading.
