An assessment conducted by an independent initiative in communities that suffered farmers-herders crisis in Adamawa State, shows that the victims of the attack, are yet to psychologically recover.
This therefore, informed the call for government to establish trauma centres.
The assessment conducted in Local Government areas of Numan and Demsa, revealed that children and their parents are yet to recover from the trauma of farmers herders crisis
The establishment of trauma centres in the state primary health care centres will therefore, provide psycho-social support and mentoring for the victims
The Chairman of Demsa Local Government Area, Elkanah Fwa said, the outcome of the assessment is an eye opener for the government to work on the grey areas observed.
The assessment also revealed that, 97% Primary Healthcare Centers in the stated local government areas, do not have access to ambulance services.
