A northern youth group have threatened to occupy the streets if the boys are not rescued within a short time frame.

This is coming from the state chapter of the Coalition of Northern Groups, CNG, who described the situation as unfortunate.

It said the activities of bandits, kidnappers, and cattle rustlers are still constituting a threat to sustainable development.

They also added that the President Buhari led administration has failed in discharging its primary responsibility of protecting lives and properties of the people.

The Northwest coordinator of the group, Jamilu Aliyu said, the attack of Government Science Secondary School Kankara by armed bandits exposes not only the weakness of the government, but also the lack of its concern to the educational sector.

It described the action as inhuman, insensitive, ungodly, barbaric and regrettable and called for an immediate action.

The group also condemned the inability of President Muhammadu Buhari to visit the scene, despite his being in the state.

It called on the state government to come out as quickly as is possible to clear the air on the specific number of abducted students, to avoid rumors.

While appealing to the state government to strengthen the activities of vigilantes, it commended the security agencies for the relative peace being enjoyed.

They also demanded the immediate closure of all secondary schools in the state, with the immediate deployment of well equipped security personnel
at all the day secondary schools within the state.

The group commended the efforts of good samaritans in Kankara Local Government Area and called for collaborative efforts between the security agencies and the local intelligence, to defeat the menace.
