Kano state House of Assembly has elected Deputy Speaker, Hamisu Cidari as the new speaker.
His election followed resignation of the Speaker, Abdulaziz Garba Gafasa on personal reasons.
The Assembly also elected Hamza Masu member representing Sumaila constituency as Deputy Speaker of the House.
Hamisu Cidari representing Makoda State constituency formerly Deputy Speaker emerged as the New Speaker after he was unanimously elected by members.
Oath of office was also admistered on the newly elected Deputy Speaker Hamza Masu.
The New Speaker then called for nomination for majority leader and Deputy Majority Leader.
Consequently, Labaran Madari representing warawa emerged new majority leader and Abdullahi Yaryasa from Tudunwada Constituency emerged Deputy Majority Leader.
The former Speaker, Abdulaziz Garba Gafasa and former Majority Leader and his Deputy were absent from the sitting of the Assembly on Tuesday.
