The Nigerian Army headquarters Abuja today at about 10:15 am experienced a minor fire outbreak.
A statement by the spokesperson, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, says the incident occurred due to an electrical fault that led to the outbreak of the fire.
The wires from the renovated building clashed, thereby resulting to a spark which generated to the fire outbreak.
The statement adds that the Army Headquarters is currently undergoing some renovations and repairs as such the renovated buildings are also under electrification.
However the combined teams from Nigerian Army, Navy, Airforce and Federal fire Services have since put off the fire recording no or minimal damages and that normalcy has returned to the headquarters and routine activities going on.
The Chief of Army Staff , Major General Ibrahim Attahiru commended the fire service teams for their proactiveness.
