Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace, has raised its check-in baggage allowance for domestic flights, in a move aimed at improving passenger experience.

Effective April 14, 2026, travellers on all domestic routes are now entitled to 20kg of checked baggage, up from the previous 15kg allowance.

The airline said the decision was driven by customer feedback and reflects its commitment to continuous service improvement.

“To our esteemed customers, we’ve heard you. You can now enjoy more room to travel,” the airline stated, noting that all Economy Class bookings on domestic routes will now include the increased allowance.

The development has been welcomed by passengers, many of whom see it as a practical response to their needs and a sign of the airline’s customer-first approach.

Founded in 2013 by Allen Onyema, Air Peace has grown rapidly from its base in Lagos, expanding across domestic, regional, and international markets.

Today, the airline is one of West Africa’s largest carriers, serving multiple destinations across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. It has also gained recognition for humanitarian efforts, including evacuation missions during crises.

Further cementing its industry position, Air Peace was recently named Best West Africa Sub-Regional Airline of the Year at the Nigerian Aviation Awards 2026—its second consecutive win in the category.

The award, announced at the NIGAV Conference Centre in Ikeja, highlights the airline’s performance in operational efficiency, route expansion, and regional connectivity.

According to spokesperson Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the recognition reflects growing confidence in the airline’s ability to deliver safe, reliable, and customer-focused services.

He added that Air Peace remains committed to strengthening intra-African connectivity, improving passenger experience, and driving economic integration across the region, as it continues to expand its network and modernise its fleet.
