Tega Dominic has denied allegations linking her romantically to media personality Frank Edoho, describing the claims as false and defamatory while threatening legal action against those spreading the reports.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate made the clarification in a statement released on Friday following allegations reportedly made by Frank Edoho’s estranged second wife, Sandra Onyenucheya, who accused the broadcaster of infidelity involving several women, including Tega.
In the statement titled “My Relationship with Frank Edoho,” Tega explained that she initially chose to remain silent to avoid unnecessary controversy but decided to respond because the allegations were beginning to affect her reputation and brand.
“I have absolutely no sexual or emotional relationship with Frank Edoho,” she stated.
According to her, Edoho is only a friend and professional acquaintance, adding that they became closer around the middle of last year after he sent birthday wishes to her mother.
Tega said they had known each other through social media and mutual industry connections and maintained that there was never anything inappropriate between them.
“The first and only time I hung out with Frank was with my manager, Paul Ukonu, present. I have absolutely nothing to hide,” she said.
She further stated that she would not have concealed any romantic relationship if one truly existed, noting that both she and Edoho were separated from their spouses at the time.
“I have never been the type to hide or sneak around. I say things exactly as they are,” she added.
Expressing concern over the impact of the allegations on her public image, Tega said she had worked hard to build her brand and would not allow false accusations to damage her reputation.
“My name cannot be dragged carelessly into false narratives. My lawyers will handle the matter appropriately. There will be consequences,” she stated.
Tega added that the statement would be the only time she would publicly address the controversy.
