The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced a four-week Basic Investigation and Enforcement training for 102 newly recruited officers of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
The training began on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the EFCC Academy in Karu, Abuja, as part of efforts to strengthen the investigative skills, professionalism and ethical standards of the new CCB personnel.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, EFCC Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, described the programme as a significant development in the relationship between the two institutions.
Represented by the Acting Commandant of the EFCC Academy, ACE1 Joseph Ogwiji, Olukoyede said, “the programme marked a significant milestone in the history of the two institutions, this is the first time the EFCC is hosting and training newly recruited staff of the Code of Conduct Bureau”.
He said the partnership went beyond staff training, describing it as an important step towards strengthening institutional capacity.
The Chairman of the CCB, Dr Abdullahi Usman Bello, also described the collaboration as essential to the government’s efforts to promote integrity and ethical conduct within the public service.
“The partnership between our two institutions remains essential to the Nigerian Government’s efforts to promote integrity and ethical conduct in public service,” Bello said.
He urged the trainees to take the programme seriously, noting that the training would prepare them to effectively discharge the Bureau’s constitutional responsibilities, including promoting transparency, preventing conflicts of interest and strengthening public confidence in the civil service.
The officers were also charged to uphold integrity, discipline, professionalism and confidentiality, while ensuring strict compliance with the law in the performance of their duties.
