Renowned Nigerian record producer and singer, Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has showered glowing praise on Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr, revealing that the singer has made a profound impact on his life.
The Mavin Records boss made the disclosure on social platform X on Thursday while responding to a fan who praised his pivotal role in nurturing Ayra Starr’s career.
Acknowledging the mutual impact between himself and the music star whose career he helped launch, Don Jazzy recalled how he first discovered her talent through a freestyle video posted on social media.
“She has most definitely changed my own life too. I bless the day I was shown her Instagram freestyle o. And she has been nothing but a dream Starrgirl,” Don Jazzy wrote.
Since her signing to Mavin Records, the songstress has steadily solidified her position as one of the leading voices in the Afrobeats genre, securing global acclaim through hit singles and international collaborations that continue to broaden her fan base.
Adding another milestone to her fast-rising career, Ayra Starr recently released her third studio album, titled Starrgirl, on August 14.
The impressive 16-track body of work boasts heavyweight feature appearances from Nigerian stars Wizkid and Rema, alongside international acts including ZAYN, Leon Thomas, kwn, Theodora, and Danny Ocean.
On the project, Wizkid makes a guest appearance on the track “Gimme Dat”, while label mate Rema features on “Who’s Dat Girl”.
