Professor Folasade Ogunsola has emerged the acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos.
She was elected on Monday by the Senate members of the University.
Prof Ogunsola, until her election was the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Development Services.
The acting VC is the chairman of the National Association of Colleges of Medicine in Nigeria.
Prof. Ogunsola will be in charge of the day-to-day running of the University pending the outcome of the Special Visitation Panel constituted by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Prompt News recalls that President Buhari, last week directed the Chairman of Council of the University, Dr. Wale Babalakin and the erstwhile vice chancellor, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, to step aside to pave the way for a special visitation panel.
Prior to that, the Babalakin-led council had suspended the embattled VC, Prof Ogundipe and appointed Prof Soyombo as acting Vice Chancellor.
