The Liverpool stars are in a race to be fit for the Reds’ Premier League clash with Arsenal after they missed training at Melwood this week with unknown injuries.

Thiago Alcantara and Alisson are in a race to be fit for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Arsenal after the pair suffered injuries.

The duo missed training at Melwood this week and are a doubt for Monday night.

Alisson and Thiago are set to undergo fitness tests on the morning of the match before Jurgen Klopp will make a decision on whether they can feature.

It is not yet known what is wrong with either individual.

Thiago was set to make his Anfield debut against Arsenal after he came off the bench in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last week.

Sadio Mane, who netted twice against the Blues, was pleased with what he saw from the £26million signing from Bayern Munich.

He spoke out about Thiago, along with new signing from Wolves Diogo Jota, this week.

“I think not only the fans are excited to see Thiago,” said Mane.

“For sure, especially me and my teammates were really happy to have this kind of quality in our squad. It only makes us better. I can see from day one in training and the game against Chelsea what he is doing.

“And I’m sure he will take us to another level, for sure.

“And we’re looking forward to seeing Kostas and Diogo Jota as well, who is a really good signing for us. I’m really happy to have him as well.

“They are good players and they will also take us to another level, which for us is something incredible, and for the fans as well.”
