The Retired Air Chief, who had been bed ridden for some months at the Ibom Specialty Hospital, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state over an undisclosed ailment gave up the ghost earlier this evening.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government Emmanuel Ekuwem, the retired Air Chief, who was also a former Minister of Aviation, died Wednesday evening in Uyo and that information from his doctors indicated that he died of end-stage kidney failure.
The statement described the late former Air Chief as a well respected statesman who contributed immensely to the development of the country and state.
It also stated that Governor Udom Emmanuel was greatly grieved by the news of his death and extends his condolences to the bereaved family.
