NIPR Unveils Initiative to Tackle Nigeria’s Reputation Challenge

In line with its mandate to regulate the practice of public relations in the country, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has developed an initiative called Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG) to address the nation’s rising reputation challenge.

Speaking earlier today in Abuja, the President, Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, said the idea of NRMG is primarily aimed at strengthening and repositioning Nigeria’s reputation capital as a core national asset, operated through private sector approach.

According to him, the initiative is a professional solution that will interface with public and private sectors towards giving Nigeria a reputation that will make her domestically respected, globally competitive, and a desired destination for productive investments.

“The greatest problem of our nation is simply the lack of reputation and when a country is weakly reputable, the economy suffers. This challenge can only be addressed with professional solution and by experts in that field. That is why, as professionals, we are determined to offer our best for the service of the nation in this regard”, he said.

The President emphasised that the NRMG will be empowered through relevant provisions of the Institute’s legal framework to operate on a functional governance structure that will enable it provide appropriate policy direction and quality advisory under the guidance of NIPR leadership.

The event which is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 15th October, 2024 will have the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H. E. Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, OON as Special Guest of Honour; Chairman of Channels Television, Dr. John Momoh, OON, NPOM as Chairman of Occasion; and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alh. Idris Mohammed, fnipr as Chief Host.
