Per Second News has announced the appointment of three new editors as part of efforts to strengthen its editorial operations, expand multimedia production and improve coverage of key sectors.
The newly appointed editors are Joycelyn Ellakeche Adah, who will serve as Digital Content Editor and Producer; Dr. Emily Howswirthz, appointed Health and Wellness Editor; and Oluwasegun Adebayo, who takes over as Entertainment and Lifestyle Editor.
Adah brings more than 20 years of experience in broadcast journalism and media production across television, radio and digital platforms.
She has worked with organisations including African Independent Television, Aso Television and Radio, Advocate Broadcasting Network and BenTV Europe.
She also produced and presented NNPCL Energy Today, an energy-focused programme broadcast on Channels Television.
With a background in energy and environmental journalism, Adah currently serves as producer of The Exchange, Per Second News’ flagship podcast, where she oversees content development, editorial planning and production.
The organisation said her experience in public affairs, storytelling and multimedia production would support its efforts to expand its digital presence.
Dr. Howswirthz, the new Health and Wellness Editor, is a physician, humanitarian advocate and healthcare professional with more than two decades of experience in the medical field.
She has worked in several major hospitals in Hamburg, Germany, where she was involved in patient care, clinical leadership and healthcare system development.
Beyond her medical career, Howswirthz has participated in humanitarian and community development initiatives, particularly in East Africa, including health outreach programmes, wellness campaigns and charitable interventions.
In her new position, she will oversee health and wellness coverage, with a focus on public health, preventive healthcare, medical developments and healthy living.
Adebayo’s appointment as Entertainment and Lifestyle Editor took effect on August 8.
Based in Lagos, he will oversee coverage of entertainment, lifestyle, celebrity affairs and premium social events, while developing content for the publication’s digital and multimedia platforms.
He has nearly 16 years of experience in journalism and media, having previously served as an Assistant Editor at Nigerian Tribune.
During his time there, Adebayo developed extensive contacts within Nigeria’s entertainment industry and gained recognition for his editorial leadership and coverage of the country’s creative sector.
Per Second News said the appointments are part of its broader strategy to improve the quality of its journalism, expand specialised coverage and strengthen its multimedia content.
The organisation added that the new editorial team would contribute to its efforts to deliver engaging and authoritative content while expanding audience engagement across digital and traditional platforms.
