Kano state Independent electoral Commission has began training for 88 electoral assistant and electoral officers for successful conduct of the elections slated for January 16th 2021.
The Independent corrupt practices and related offences commission ICPC also pledges to monitor and fight corruption during the poll.
Chairman of the commission professor Garba Sheka said local government election is critical to deepening democracy in the country.
The Commissioner for independent corrupt practice commission Zaiyanu Danmusa said the commission deems it necessary to partner with KANSIEC in the training of its officers saddled with the responsibility of conducting the election.
The local government election will hold on saturday 16th january, 2021.
